Dragon's World

What is Minecraft?

I mean, it's Minecraft. You probably have at least some idea of what it is.

Why Minecraft is timeless and infinitely immersive

Many people look down on Minecraft and don't give it chance due to its basic graphics. They see it as a simple children's game when it is anything but. The thing is, its simplicity is what makes it so complex. Other games tell you what to do and what you can do. Minecraft gives you an infinite grid where you can decide what is in each square. It's like legos -- with a little imagination, you can make ANYTHING.

However, Minecraft is even more dynamic than legos. There's water that will flow, plants that will grow, and a complex wiring system which allows you to make machines to do anything. Due to Minecraft itself being a grid, everything in it is pixelated. People assume that this is because of laziness, but it actually helps keep the game consistent and immersive. Despite what you may believe, immersive-ness is more about consistency than realism, and Minecraft is VERY consistent. More realistic games can actually be less immersive due to them being less consistent, as it is harder to stay consistent to realism than to a more cartoony style.

What do I do in Minecraft?

I'm asked this sometimes, and, tbh, I don't really know the answer. I do a bit of everything I guess? I'll build, do redstone, code command blocks, make texture packs, play around with different mechanics, and do whatever else I feel like. I mainly do creative, but I'll sometimes try survival. I've never beaten the dragon in singleplayer, though (one of the amazing parts of Minecraft is that it's so nonlinear that many people will play for years and never beat the game).

Recently I've actually been trying to record and edit Minecraft videos, posting them to YouTube. I've yet to really get any views, but I'm going to keep trying. I've also made a drawing of my Minecraft skin, and I love it so much (drawing on the left), although I still have no idea what I'm going to do with it.
